Without question, the worst aspect of cancer is the human suffering--the toll it takes on life, the devastating side effects of the treatment, and heartache it brings to both the victim and the family. The cancer experience is the worst of all traumas on the body, the emotions, the spirit, and the psyche. However, the cancer economy is almost equally as debilitating.

One of the greatest drawbacks to benefiting from integrative cancer treatment is the sparse availability of integrative oncologists and clinics. Because it is not yet universally accepted in America's mainstream medicine, there are relatively few doctors and clinics that offer the complementary therapies. Much better access to the services is a principal objective of the new strategy for the war on cancer.  Most of the integrative oncology clinics that currently exist are on the coasts with very little access in the mid-western and southern states. However, there is a source of information on the doctors and clinics that offer integrative cancer care.
