Medical and Pharmaceutical science is bringing us breakthrough advances in cancer care almost daily. The problem is that each advance costs more than the last, and your health insurance isn’t always going to cover it. One could conclude that, If you’re ever going to have cancer (and half of us are), plan to have it soon before it costs any more. One of the most promising categories of treatment is the oral targeted agents, or pills, taken in place of intravenous chemotherapy.  These pills are proving to be more effective, are accompanied by less negative side effects, and…..are not covered by the normal insurance plans with small out-of-pocket costs.
